I am running for office in the area which has always been my home. My family has deep roots here, going back to the pioneers who settled here almost 200 years ago. I live on my grandparents’ farm in Blackford County which they purchased almost 75 years ago.
I now have a grandson, my first, who is almost two. I want him to have the opportunity to choose to live on this farm as well. But with deterioration of our local rural and small town economy, he isn’t going to have that choice. I want to make rural Indiana a place where businesses will locate and my grandson can live here with the ability to make a decent living.
